Apply for Funding

Last year the Children's Health Foundation of Vancouver Island invested $3.2 million in programs and community initiatives serving children, youth, and their families across Vancouver island. We believe that children with disabilities and health challenges deserve the same opportunities and life chances as other children. Each year, a portion of our investment is granted to organizations that improve the health outcomes for Island children through an open call for proposals.

Grants for Community Programs

2019 Call for Proposals

Issued: October 19, 2017

Application deadline: November 27, 2017 at 4:00pm

The Foundation invites eligible community organizations to submit proposals for funding that directly support one of the Foundation’s impact areas related to health and well-being as described below:

1.  Child & Youth Mental Health: Providing community-based mental health services and supports for children and youth. Initiatives focussed on early years (0 to 6 years old) and middle years (7 to 12 years old) will be given priority consideration.

2.  Early Childhood Development: Providing early intervention programs with targeted interventions for children (aged 0 to 6) with identified health and developmental needs and/or their caregivers to positively impact long-term health outcomes for children.

3.   Rural & Remote Access: Bringing health care services closer to home or reducing barriers to access for children, youth, and their families who live in rural or remote communities.

Does your registered charitable organization directly support one of our three impact areas? Please review our grant guidelines. After reviewing the guidelines and affirming eligibility, please request an application by contacting the Community Investment Manager for your region.  When you call for application, prepare for a minimum 10 minutes discussing your initiative with the Community Investment Manager.
