Grants for Community Programs

2017 Call for Proposals

Issued: October 24, 2016 

Application deadline: December 2, 2016 at 4:00pm

The Foundation invites eligible registered charitable organizations to submit proposals for funding that directly support one of the Foundation’s four priority areas as described below:

1.  Child and Youth Mental Health

2.  Therapeutic Supports and Services

3.   Island-wide Early Intervention and Rehabilitation Services

4.   Supporting Families to Access Services

If you believe your program or project qualifies for funding, contact the Community Investment Manager for your region, as listed in the booklet.               

Bear Essentials

This program supports families who have expenses related to their children’s health need or disability. Bear Essentials will cover travel expenses, medical equipment or other specialized supports for a child with special needs. If a family has an urgent need and cannot access support elsewhere, they may be eligible for a grant to cover expenses up to $1,000.

Referrals to the program are accepted from health professionals working with Island Health or one of the Foundation’s qualified community partners. For more information on how to apply please contact:
